Responsibilities
Mayo Clinic Rochester is seeking a motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our outpatient Cardiology team, supporting both the Comprehensive Cardiology and Chest Pain Clinic. This unique position offers a blend of general cardiology and specialized care for patients with conditions such as coronary artery disease (CAD), coronary vasospasm, microvascular disease, chronic chest pain, heart failure, valvular disease and arrhytmias. and refractory angina.
The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. The Comprehensive Cardiology component involves managing common cardiology conditions such as valvular heart disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and cardiovascular risk assessment and modification, along with other general cardiology concerns. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and manage care for patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, including CAD, microvascular disease, and chronic chest pain.
- Diagnose and treat both acute and chronic cardiac conditions including heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular disease.
- Coordinate and interpret diagnostic testing related to chest pain and cardiovascular syndromes.
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
- Provide ongoing care and follow-up for patients with chronic heart conditions and support risk factor modification strategies.
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate closely with cardiology subspecialists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, comprehensive care.
Qualifications
Master’s or DNP-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as an FNP or ANP in Minnesota OR graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with certification by the NCCPA and Minnesota licensure.
Eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges. BLS required.
Cardiology experience preferred, but not required; new graduates with specific cardiology interest are welcome to apply.
